The UK Regional Director of Finance is established to lead the delivery of effective and efficient financial operations in line with the organisational vision, strategy, and values.
Partnering with the Board(s), Leadership Team and functional management within the UK Region, the UK Regional Director of Finance will lead a team to produce clear and timely financial reports, manage financial audits, review, improve and implement financial controls, and coordinate annual financial planning processes for the Region. Our client operates within the Education sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Timely completion of monthly reporting, statutory compliance deliverables and other Board reporting requirements.
- Collate budgets and monitor and report on performance.
- Provide direction and advice to Heads of Department and Campuses regarding financial and budgetary issues.
- Compile and present information on costs and contribution by Department and Campus.
- Analysis of monthly financial management reports for whole Campus and Department level for variances to budget, including presentation of results and insights to the leadership team and board
- Prepare and present long-term financial plans (budgets/forecasts) in line with future strategies.
- Support and plan projects that meet compliance standards ensure risk is minimised.
- Coordinate and implement accounting controls and reviews to ensure compliance.
- Work with stakeholders to resolve control issues and ensure policy compliance.
- Develop and maintain a strong rapport with organisational stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of process robustness and use lean methodologies to improve processes.
- Support the Campuses with training and advice on process improvement on internal control measures and segregation of duties. Support Campuses when implementing new policies.
- Manage overall Insurance needs for the organisation recognising appropriate risks.
- Investigate and respond to issues emerging from audit findings and management internal reviews across the organisation, as and when required.
- Co-ordinate and execute external audits to achieve favourable ratings and as required, fulfil data requests to help with timely audit completion.
- Keep up to date on initiatives impacting financial processes and communicating these to the stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

- Relevant professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
- Minimum 6 years of overall financial and managerial accounting experience.
- Membership of Professional Body (ACCA/CIMA equivalent) and/or Financial institutions preferred.
- Experience with financial accounting systems.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial forecasts and projections, and analytical review.
- Experience with developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and internal controls.
