Provide Leadership, Motivation, Learning and development of the warehouse transport team. Maximise the productivity and accuracy of the warehouse whilst maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Responsibility for operational cost controls including negotiations of variable expenditure. In addition to ensure compliance to all Health and Safety, ISO, legal operational compliance.

Provide and maintain a KPI suite that provides a continued improvement and cost reduction platform, all delivering outstanding customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities include:  

Health & Safety:

  • Delivery of a safe, secure and clean work environment for team members
  • Overall accountability for Health, Safety and the Environment in all areas of responsibility
  • Ensure compliance to Operating Procedures
  • In the event of an accident/incident ensure that the correct reporting procedure is followed and corrective action is taken where necessary

Operational:

  • Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilisation within the warehouse.
  • Drive activities to deliver the strategy including financial performance.
  • Through effective communication ensure that the team understand the warehouse objectives and through frequent reviews, that customer satisfaction levels are continually monitored and maintained
  • Build effective working relationships both inside and outside of the operations function.
  • Communicate operational customer services issues to the sales and or purchasing team.
  • Maintenace of owned van fleet and all legal compliance requirements, including driver debrief recording incidents or accidents for record.

Transport:

  • Daily Routing of three owned vans and employed drivers.
  • Route planning of deliveries via dedicated and pallet networks
  • Engage with sales team with any delivery, planning or stock issues immediately.

Management Responsibilites:

  • Lead and mentor the Supervisors and Warehouse Staff and ensure compliance and accuracy in all areas of:
  • Health & Safety
  • Warehouse Operations
  • ISO Complianace
  • Transport planning and vehicle
  • Budget and cost Control

 

Required Qualifications/Skills:  

  • Attention to detail/Accuracy/Numerically sound with Budget Management experience
  • Experienced of working in a busy warehouse environment
  • Vehicle route planning experience
  • Excellent planning and organisation and communication skills – Excellent verbal & written English
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision – ability to work under pressure
  • Enthusiastic and driven to achieve targets and objectives
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good computer skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and Access
  • Health & Safety Qualification ISOH
